ENDLESS SUMMER
As summer draws to a close, and the weather begins to turn, Tori Yu's Avenue Tank, knitted in Spincycle's Dyed In The Wool sport weight yarn is the perfect knit top for the mood. Rachael picked the Poppy colorway, a bright, happy yarn that puts a smile on your face. You can get the Dyed In The Wool Poppy colorway and Tori's pattern on Ravelry by clicking the button below. (Bad Cat Knit Goods has no affiliation with Tori Yu or Ravelry. We just love Tori's patterns, and we think you will too!) Or you can shop below the photos for other colorways you might also love. Just click through the swatches until you find your perfect mood!
Dyed in the Wool is Spincycle's original sport weight, the yarn that started it all, and it’s still the one people ask for by name. It's 100% superwashed American wool (a blend of Rambouillet, Targhee, and Merino, raised in South Dakota and Wyoming), grown, dyed, and spun sheep-to-skein without ever leaving the country. Kate and Rachel started Spincycle at a Bellingham farmers' market in 2004, kettle-dyeing small batches by hand. Though now milled, this yarn still carries that same handmade, one-of-a-kind spirit.
The magic is in the name: the wool is dyed before it's spun, so the color runs clean through every single strand, with no flat spots and no surface-only pooling. What you get instead are long, slow color shifts that move and drift as you knit, giving every project a depth that solid-dyed yarn can't touch. It comes in 200-yard skeins, with a springy and soft in the hand feel, and enough grip to hold stitch definition beautifully whether you're working it solo or using it as a scene-stealer in colorwork. Every skein is genuinely one of a kind!
