Dream State

Dream State is Spincycle's answer to what handspun yarn feels like without asking you to actually hand-spin it. It's a 3-ply, worsted weight, 100% superwashed American wool — the same Rambouillet, Targhee, and Merino blend as Dyed in the Wool, raised in South Dakota and Wyoming and kept sheep-to-skein in the USA the entire way. But where Dyed in the Wool gets its long color shifts from dyeing the wool before spinning, Dream State does it differently: separate color-shifting strands are plied together, so the color moves and blends in a way that mimics true handspun character.
It's a smooth, round, balanced yarn that behaves well at a range of gauges — plain stockinette shows it off just as well as colorwork or texture does. 150 yards per skein, gauge 4.5 sts = 1" on US 7 needles. Hand wash or machine wash cold, lay flat to dry.
One more thing worth knowing: Spincycle recently updated this line, and what we're carrying is the last of the earlier run — once these skeins are gone, they're gone. If you love the depth and drift of this particular version, this is your chance to stock up before it's replaced for good.
