Beara

Beara is named for Cailleach Bhéarra, the "Hag of Beara" — an ancient goddess of Irish folklore, deeply tied to the land and the turning of the seasons. It's a fitting namesake for a yarn this rooted: 70% Irish wool and 30% UK alpaca, woolen-spun as a classic 2-ply tweed at the historic Donegal Yarns mill. The solids come flecked with tweedy neps; the marls pair two of those solids together, so the whole line coordinates for color-blocking, stripes, or accented cuffs and button bands. Rustic and characterful, with just enough alpaca to soften the hand and add drape without losing that traditional Irish wool character.
